Bamboo Tableware
Our bamboo products are made from industrial manufacturers’ discarded bamboo.
Excess scraps are gathered from bamboo chopstick manufacturers and ground into powder. The bamboo powder is mixed with corn starch and a food grade melamine binder, then molded into tableware. All our tableware is free of PVC, BPA and all phthalates.
Made in China in a manufacturing facility that is third party audited to uphold health and safety standards, humane work hours and fair wages.
Dishwasher safe?
Yes, up to 70 celsius. We recommend using the top rack and no prolonged soaking.
Can it go in the microwave?
No. Bamboo tableware should not be heated in a microwave.
Will it scratch?
Normal forks and knives will not scratch the surface. The use of steak knives is not recommended.
What happens if I drop it on the ground?
This product will not shatter like glass or ceramic and will not usually break when dropped but it may crack or chip if it hits a hard surface like tile or concrete.
Coasters
Our porcelain coasters are decorated in-house and printed locally. The surface decoration is a ceramic ‘overglaze’ decal that is fired in a kiln. It is permanent and will not rub off or wear away. The porcelain blanks are manufactured in China. To clean, wipe with a damp cloth.
Incense Holders and Ornaments
Our incense holders and ornaments are handmade from earthenware clay in our Toronto studio. The surface decoration is a ceramic decal that is fired into the glaze and is permanent and will not rub off or wear away. The surface of the incense holders will not stain and may be cleaned with a damp cloth.
Paper Products
Our greeting cards are printed locally on a variety of paper stocks. Some are 100% recycled, some FSC certified with 10% post consumer recycled content while others are manufactured with wind energy. Single cards are packed in a compostable plastic sleeve made from plants.
Prints are printed locally with soy based inks using a risograph method. Risograph printing is a duplicating process that works much like a screenprint. Each colour is laid down separately, allowing for vibrant shades and rich ink coverage. Slight imperfections and overlapping colours create a lo-fi quality that lends warmth and character to each print.
